Another Boy, Killed

At this point there really is no fence to sit on. As a people, we have two options to choose from. We can either choose to oppose the barbaric murdering and dismembering of OUR children or we can choose to support it. There is no in between. By not opposing it, one chooses to sit by and idly watch…which is, in essence, silent support. Dietrich Bonheoffer (a German Pastor during the Holocaust) once said,

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

This is still true today. We don’t have the luxury of being quiet. Our voices actually matter. An American Dentist kills a lion and receives an immense amount of press. The quarterback of a football team possibly deflates some footballs and everyone’s talking about it. But this is not about a lion, nor a game, this is about millions of human lives. This is about millions of innocent children that were never given the opportunity to experience life here on earth. They were never given the opportunity to be upset about the death of a famous lion. They will never have the opportunity to decide if they like a particular sport, let alone choose a favorite team. They will never experience their family here on earth. They never had their parents tell them “I’m proud of you,” or “I love you.” No, instead, they are sucked out of the womb (their only “safe” place) and then chopped up by a group of cackling fools who then proclaim “another boy,” a phrase typically reserved to celebrate life, not murder and subsequent dismemberment.

There have been many times in our Nation where citizens have had to stand up and fight for those who couldn’t. This is one of those times. The only difference is that we have turned a blind eye to what has been going on for decades. Now, no one can turn a blind eye. They can either choose to speak out in opposition and show that they are tuned into their conscience, or they can stay silent and choose to ignore it. We have to be bold, there are no other options. You don’t have to believe in God to know that what is going on is evil. You just have to have a conscience. What I definitely do not understand is how anyone who claims the title “Christian” can be silent on this issue let alone in public support of the evil that is ruining human life.
The point is…we have to do something. We have to make our voices known. We cannot treat this as another “here today, gone tomorrow” movement that lights up social media for one week and then dies out.

First, we have to pray. God can do the impossible. He can stop this madness, he can awaken the conscience of people, and he can forgive those who have violated basic laws of nature as well as their conscience.
Second, we have to speak. We most assuredly have a voice and we need to use it. We have to be talking with people on this issue (both in person and on social media).
Finally, we have to act. We have to continually remind our lawmakers and our President that we will not stand for the murder of our children any longer. We will not stand for the trafficking of human body parts any longer.

God, forgive us, and help us to end this.
